Bill by the hour or by the day from check-ins, and review draft charges

For drop-in and part-time care, bill families for the time their child was actually checked in: by the hour, or by the full or half day. Each night Bloomz turns check-ins into draft charges. Nothing is billed until you approve it.
Who this is for
Center directors and billing staff.
Step 1 — Turn on attendance billing
- Open your center and select the gear (Settings) in the toolbar, then Payments.
- Scroll down to Bill by attendance. Switch on Turn on attendance billing.
Step 2 — Put the child on an hourly or daily plan
- In Payments, select Select an action → Create bill plans and pick the children.
- On Set rate, choose By the hour (from check-ins) and enter the Hourly rate, or By the day (from check-ins) and enter the Daily rate.
- For a daily plan, you can also set a Half-day rate and A half day is up to (hours). A day with that many hours or fewer is billed at the half-day rate. Set both or neither.
- Finish Add details and create the plan.
Step 3 — Review and approve draft charges
- On At a Glance, select Draft charges pending review.
- Each row shows the child, the hours or days and the dates, and the amount.
- Select Approve to turn it into a real charge on the family's account, or Reject to discard it.
Watch out: approving cannot be undone. Check the hours against the child's check-ins first.
FAQ
- A child stayed checked in overnight by mistake. Fix the check-out time first, or reject the draft.
- Do subsidies apply? Yes. An approved attendance charge takes the child's active subsidy award, so the family is billed only their share.
- Late-pickup fees show in the same list. They do. See Charge an automatic late-pickup fee.
