Bloomz for school administrators

Set the school up once, and decide what your staff and families can see.

As a school administrator you control the roster, the staff roles, and — most importantly — which features exist for everyone else. Start with that last one: most 'Bloomz is broken' reports from your staff are a feature that was never switched on.

The order matters. Features first, then people, then data.

How features are switched on — read this first

Almost everything optional in Bloomz is controlled by a school-level setting you own. Each one can be off, on for your school, or on for your school and everything beneath it. Until you turn a feature on, your staff cannot see it and will report it as missing.

Bring in staff, students and families from a file. The importer validates before it commits, so you can fix problems before anything lands.

Set staff roles

Decide who administers the school and who only teaches.

Don’t see this? Billing staff is a real role the server recognizes, but the app does not yet give someone with only that role a way in — pair it with another role for now.

Your first weeks

Invite staff and confirm they can sign in
Check families are actually reachable

Look at how many families have joined and how many have a working phone number or email. This number is the ceiling on every other thing Bloomz can do for you.

There is a verification step handled by our payment processor before money can move.

Don’t see this? Card and bank processing rates are fixed and not editable — you choose only whether to absorb the fee or pass it to families.
Before you change a billing setting

The billing settings page saves per card, not per page. If you edit two sections and press one Save, the other is lost.

Build an enrollment or registration packet

Packets can collect profile details, contacts, health information, forms, documents and fees.
