How a district setting reaches a school — read this first
Turning a feature on at district level affects the district itself. It does NOT reach your schools unless you also apply it to everything beneath. This one distinction accounts for most 'I turned it on and nothing happened' reports.
Locking a setting
Separately from turning something on, you can lock it so an individual school cannot change it. Use this for policy, not for preference — a locked setting is invisible work for the school admin who cannot see why they are stuck.
Review your school hierarchy
Check every school is where you expect it before you apply anything district-wide.
Reporting and oversight
Compare adoption and engagement across schools
Review communication deliverability
Find the schools with the highest share of unreachable families — bad phone numbers and bounced email are the usual cause.
District payment totals
Open balances and past-due totals can be seen for every school with payments enabled.
