Plan the week: activity library, weekly lesson plan and the room's daily schedule
Plan your room's week from a library of ready-made activities, set the room's daily schedule, and share both with families. Families see the plan and a "Try at home" idea for each day; they never see your staff notes or materials list.
Who this is for
Room teachers plan their own room. Directors can plan any room.
Step 1 — Open the lesson plan
Open your room, select the star icon for the room's Activities page, then Lesson plan and schedule in its toolbar. The page has three tabs: Week plan, Daily schedule and Activity library.
Step 2 — Add activities to the week
- On Week plan, select + Add under a day.
- Choose Add an activity to pick from the library, or Add your own item.
- In Choose an activity, search, or filter by age (Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, School age), and pick one.
To move a planned activity, drag it to another day, or press and hold it.
Copy last week fills the week from the week before. Print gives you a copy for the room's wall.
Step 3 — Set the daily schedule
On Daily schedule, each row is a block of the day, such as Arrival, Circle time, Lunch or Nap and rest, with its times and the days it applies to. The schedule repeats every day it applies to.
- Select + Add to the day.
- Pick What happens, set the Start time and End time, and tick the Days.
- Select Save. Use the trash icon on a row to remove it.
Step 4 — Use and grow the activity library
The Activity library starts with ready-made activities marked Starter. Use Filters to narrow it by Age, Learning domain and Theme.
To add your own, select + New activity and fill in the name, ages, learning domains, theme, minutes and materials. Two text boxes matter most:
- How to run it (staff only) is for your team. Families never see it.
- Try at home (families see this) is the idea families read on This week.
Troubleshooting
- A sheet runs off the bottom of the screen. Scroll inside it. To close the Add sheet, tap outside it.
- A family asks why they cannot see the materials list. Families see the activity, the learning areas and Try at home only.
