Export form responses to CSV

Once families start answering a form, pull every response into a spreadsheet with one export — useful for a headcount, a permission-slip roster, or anything you need to sort, filter, or share outside Bloomz.

Before you start

You need to be the form's creator, or a class or school admin/teacher — the download option only appears for those roles. The export includes every response submitted so far, so if answers are still coming in, export again later for the rest.

Downloading the CSV

Open the form from More → Forms. The responses screen shows the total number of responses, with Summary and Individual views — Summary gives you a per-question breakdown, Individual lists each family's full set of answers. If your role allows it, a download icon appears in the top bar; select it to download every response received so far as a CSV, one row per response.

The file opens cleanly in Excel: an address question now exports as a normal street/city/state/zip line instead of unreadable raw data, and names or answers written in Spanish or Arabic keep their accents and characters instead of turning into garbled text.

If your role doesn't actually have permission to export this particular form — for example, you're no longer part of the class it belongs to — Bloomz now shows you an error message instead of quietly downloading a broken file.

Watch out: if a name or an answer starts with a plus, minus, or @ sign — an international phone number written as "+1 555 0100", say — you may see a small leading mark (') in front of it when you open the file. That's not a mistake in the data; it's Bloomz telling the spreadsheet to treat the value as plain text instead of a formula. The number itself is still correct.

Watch out: the export is a snapshot — it doesn't update itself. If more families answer after you download it, download again rather than relying on the file you already have.
