What a no-login school app actually shows you

A handful of schools run their own custom-branded version of the Bloomz app — its own name, icon, and app-store listing — built to work without an account at all. This article is specifically about that version. This is real, shipped platform behavior, but narrow: only a school that had a custom app built for them has it, and the screens below are described from how the app is built, not photographed from a specific school's branded app — check with your school for their own exact wording and icon before treating anything here as a promise about their app.

Before you start

Nothing to set up on your end — if your school's app works this way, you'll see it the moment you open the app, no code or login required.

What you can see without signing in

Open your school's app. Instead of a sign-in wall, you land on a working app with its own bottom tabs:

• Updates — your school's public posts and alerts.
• My Calendar — public school events.
• Documents — files your school has published publicly (handbooks, menus, forms).
• Meetings, if your school publishes public meeting agendas.
• Website, if your school has connected one, showing it right inside the app.
• A custom shortcut tile, if your school added one — a webpage or an outside link they picked.
• The last tab is Sign in.

None of this is a preview or a teaser — it's the same public content the school's website shows, just inside their own app instead of a browser.

What stays private until you sign in

Anything about your own child specifically — their classroom's feed and photos, direct messages with teachers, sign-ups, forms, payments — is never visible in the signed-out shell. Signing in only ever adds to what you see; it never replaces or hides the public content you could already see before.

Getting notified without an account

The app can register your device for push notifications on the public content you're already seeing — a new alert or announcement can reach you the same way it would a signed-in family — without asking you to create an account first. Exactly which posts trigger a notification (every post, or only alerts/announcements) is a setting the school controls, not something you configure.

The sign-in door

The last tab, Sign in, is the one and only invitation to create an account or sign in — a short screen naming what you'd gain (your child's classroom feed and photos, direct messages with teachers, calendar and sign-ups for your own child) with Sign In and Create Account buttons. Nothing elsewhere in the signed-out shell nags you to sign in or locks a row behind a paywall-style prompt — this one screen is the whole ask. Signing in does not start you over: the tab bar keeps the same slots, and the same public content you already saw stays visible alongside your new, personal content.

Watch out: this whole article describes app behavior confirmed from how the platform is built, not verified against a specific school's live branded app — if you have access to a real no-login school app, treat any difference you spot as more current than this description, and let Bloomz support know so this article can be corrected.
